HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!! A year ago on Valentine's Day Zev and I got engaged! What a wonderful day and what an amazing, blessed year it has been. We love you all and hope that you have a great year ahead!! Posted by Hello

Today, some Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) Spouses and Air War College Spouses (Zev attends ACSC) were invited to attend the Governor of Alabama's Mansion for Morning Tea with Alabama's First Lady, Mrs. Patsy Riley. It was a fun morning and the group as a whole donated some clothes and supplies for the Women's Shelters of Montgomery. Mrs. Riley was very gracious, and my favourite room was this one, the First Ladies Parlour. Coffee and bikkies were good too........ Posted by Hello

With the First Lady of Alabama, Mrs Patsy Riley (in the red jacket). I am standing with some of the International Spouses of ACSC students, such as the Italian spouse, Slovenian spouse, Colombian spouse...

We celebrated Mardi Gras (New Orleans kind, not the Sydney G&L kind!) with some Montgomery friends. Zev and I were invited to a "Crawfish Party" at the house of one of my work colleagues, Taylor Cook. It was a fun party, following the Mardi Gras theme, with a large vat of boiled crawfish cooked in a delicious-smelling cajun mix, and oysters. Zev and I were dared to try a raw oyster each and what you see in this picture is our delighted expressions after swallowing some oysters! Yummy?????? Zev and I are still not convinced that we should begin eating seafood!!!

We spent "Mardi Gras" with some good friends from Zev's school. Mardi Gras in the South is a week long party typically centered around Cajun food and green, purple and gold decorations, and hurricane drinks! Lots of fun! Mardi Gras in New Orleans culminates with Fat Tuesday which marks the day before the beginning of Lent. We are all wearing the traditional beads which are usually distributed to Carnivale goers in New Orleans! We had a lot of fun needless to say, and Zev made some delicious Jambalaya!!!
