It was pretty hot and sticky, canoeing along the Buffalo River. So at every opportunity we had, we would just jump into the river for a swim and then dry off instantly! Posted by Picasa

We thought we had found the perfect camping spot- until the park ranger informed us that we were camping in an RV camping area!!! Luckily he didn't make us move our tent- we thought it was too good to be true that we had access to showers and bathrooms! Posted by Picasa

Zev cooked up a lovely romantic dinner, complete with some Australian wine! Posted by Picasa

A fine dinner in a fine setting- Zev did well in improvising with our wine "glasses"! Posted by Picasa

We saw some amazing wildlife, including beautiful blue herrons flying within feet of our canoe... Posted by Picasa

All in all, we had a lovely, relaxing time on the Buffalo River over Memorial Day long weekend! Posted by Picasa

So many exciting things!

G'day all!
So many exciting things have been happening in our lives that we haven't had a chance to update our blog! First of all, Fi's brother Mario and his wife, Gabby had their firstborn son, Alessandro.

We have also been blessed with visits from Australia- our dear friends Danny and Tracy came to stay with us for a few days and we were able to show them around Shreveport. Fi's cousins Leah and Rachel also came for a visit and just left a few days ago, so we got our "dose" of Australia for the moment!

Work and life is going well for both of us- Zev will be working this weekend's air show on base which should be fun. We will be sure to take lots of pictures and post them on this site. Fi is enjoying the challenges of her first year as a practicing Louisiana attorney, learning tons along the way.

We miss everyone very much and pray that you are all doing great!

Take care,
Love Zev and Fi xoxoxo

Our dear friends from Australia, Danny and Tracy also paid a visit to us, as part of their trip around the States. Here we are holding up alligator legs, which we cooked up on our BBQ grill, in honor of typical Louisiana cajun cuisine Posted by Picasa

Mu cousins, Leah and Rachel came to visit Zev and I in Shreveport this past weekend. They have been traveling around the States, before they head to London to live and work. Posted by Picasa

We are happy to be home after a wonderful vacation. Although we were only gone for 10 days, it feels like we have been on vacation for about 3 weeks!! Posted by Picasa

We celebrated Fiona's bar exam results that evening at dinner after a lovely day in beautiful Aruba! Posted by Picasa

The cruise ended on a sweet note, when on Friday, March 24th, Fiona found out that she passed the Louisiana Bar Exam (her fictitious "name" was Joey Kangaroo as you can see from this screen). The Bar Committee received the final Character & Fitness certificate on Fiona today, so hopefully she will be sworn in at her Admissions Ceremony on April 13 with all the other successful Bar candidates! Posted by Picasa

We swam in some beautiful locations, such as Trafalgar Falls in Dominica.  Posted by Picasa

Our cabin steward would make us little towel "animals" and leave them on our bed every night.  Posted by Picasa

We enjoyed some cool shore excursions such as exploring Harrison's Caves in Barbados, which reminded me (Fiona) of Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. Posted by Picasa

Jeni, the ship's pizzeria attendant looked after Zev when Zev stopped by for some pizza. Posted by Picasa

We went on our first cruise aboard the Carnival Destiny, which is a large ship that fits 3000 passengers and over 1000 crew. We managed to find our way around the ship just fine though! Zev had no trouble finding the 24 hour pizzeria.  Posted by Picasa

Puerto Rico is a place rich of culture, history, good music, great food and beautiful beaches.  Posted by Picasa

We enjoyed a few days traveling through beautiful Puerto Rico with our good friends, Mike and Deanna, and then toured the Southern Caribbean on a 7 day cruise together. We had a lot of fun in the sun! Posted by Picasa

Zev and I enjoyed walking through beautiful and historic Old San Juan ("Viejo San Juan"). It reminded us a lot of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Posted by Picasa
