Beautiful Boy

I woke up this morning with this beautiful song in my head.  I sang it softly to my beautiful boy while rubbing my belly and feeling him kick back!  I can't wait to meet him and I know that Zev is so excited too.  Today marks 38 weeks of gestation and at my doctor's appointment today, I am hoping that Dr. Reed can give some information as to when he expects our boy to arrive and perhaps how much he weighs.  I haven't experienced any of the pre-labor signs yet, so my gut feeling is that he will be a full 40 weeks gestation baby.  Maybe even a little longer....

This has been such a wonderful pregnancy; thank you LORD!!!  I pray that the labor and delivery go well too.  I love being pregnant.  I love it when Zev puts his hands on my belly and with a serious face tries to feel what the baby is doing.  More often than not our boy will kick and move around.  I believe that he can sense his daddy's hands and voice.  A few nights ago, Zev felt a big "thump" when he touched my belly.  So cool....

I have been organizing our baby boy's room, putting things away (lots of teddy bears and blankets) and just cleaning things up.  Finalizing our hospital "go" bag.  Is this nesting?  I love my son so much; I can't even imagine how much more I will love him when he arrives.

To all blog readers out there who are parents; I get it now.  I understand the incredible love that you have for your own child.  It's amazing! I love Zev so much more now that we are beginning our little family and will have our own boy soon.  I look at him differently and imagine what our son will look like.  Thanks to God for creating our little one.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Zev's Promotion Ceremony!

We have been showered with blessings this year especially and Zev's promotion to Colonel this past Friday is another one of our blessings.  Zev's parents came into town last Tuesday to help Zev celebrate his promotion, and it was neat for them to meet up with local friends, Rick and Ellen, who happened to be down in our neck of the woods for Zev's promotion.  Zev's promotion ceremony was lovely and simple and he was able to spend a few moments speaking and thanking all that came.

Zev's friend, Col Charlie Hale, who is now retired, did Zev's promotion.  Charlie and his wife, Kathy came down to stay with us from their home in northern Virginia.
After the ceremony, we greeted and thanked all the guests that came.  It was lovely for Zev and I to catch up with some familiar faces from previous postings.  I love the military "family"!!
Zev's promotion cake epitomised what Zev stands for.  Good words, baby! His speech was lovely too.  He thanked the Lord first then family and gave Judy and I a lovely bunch of flowers!
Here we are with Col and Kathy Hale and Zev's parents, Dave and Judy.
As you can see, I am "heavily pregnant with child."  But I still wore my black high heels, girlfriends!!
It truly was an honor to listen to Zev's accomplishments at every single posting he has had, and an honor to be married to this wonderful man.
Zev said the sweetest thing to me this afternoon. He said that although it is great that he got promoted in the Air Force, he is also looking forward to another promotion coming up soon- to "daddy." Three weeks to go...
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.  Luke 12:48

Laugh and Cry

I heard this story on the KLove radio station this morning, and it made me cry:

Basically, this mother in Indiana used her body as a human shield during the tornadoes that tore through this week. Her two children (5 and 8 years old) didn't suffer a scratch according to the article, but she has lost both her legs and suffered 9 broken ribs. The love of a mother for her babies....

Then this made me laugh later on today:
It made me laugh because I have been saying for months now that "they" (ie: every parking lot on this planet) should have special parking spots for pregnant (especially heavily pregnant women). Walking across a parking lot when 8 1/2 months pregnant is hard work, let me tell you. I still love being pregnant though.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

Skype shower!!!

My awesome mother in law, Judy and sister in law, Lauren threw me a Skype shower today!  It was so cool!  All the aunties and family and friends were there at Lauren's house to help celebrate!  I got to talk to everyone and show off my belly via Skype!  Thanks to Dave for setting up the Skype and especially to Judy for the awesome food that she prepared, including spanish empanadas, Auntie Charo's salad and Australian Pavlova, and of course thank you to Lauren for hosting the party at her beautiful home.  We can't wait to introduce Baby Boy to the family!!!!
Thank you Judy for this incredible spread of yummy food!  Can't wait to taste your empanadas!
Thanks for the flying fish, Aunt Joanne!  I know Zev will like the remote controlled aspect and teach our boy how to use it.
Hope and Baby Quinn (7 months old already!)
Aunt Olivia pointed out that our boy will be born in the Year of the Dragon...Hope that means he will sleep well through the night! Ha...

I love family.  We are so blessed to have a good family, on both "ends" of the world!
